I wanted the tag to have a gold, antiqued look, not shiny silver.  First, I heated the tag with my torch to ruin the silver finish.  Then I used first gold then black rub-n-buff to get a color more suited to this piece.

I stamped into the clay several times, then cut tiles in misc sizes.  I made a thin clay floor on which to lay the tiles.  I baked the cover, then grouted in between with small snakes of black clay. Then I baked the cover again.  The picture does not do it justice.
